Coolest Science Ever?

Some researchers used HIV, the virus that causes aids, to inject Leukemia hunting DNA programming in to T-Cells from three patients. Totally experimental but it sounds like they were on the edge of death with no other options. There was a bit of a roller coaster after putting the altered T-Cells back in the patients but but the bottom line is two were apparently cured. Seriously. You want to know what point of the government investing in pure science is? It's right here. This was privately funded but there's no way this kind of stuff exists without building on the human genome project.
