Drones as Weapons

It's tough to disagree with this article entitled, I'll Register My Drone When You Have to Register Your Gun.

I don't own any firearms or drones but find myself wondering if someone designs and builds a drone with a primary purpose of being an firearm, would the drone enjoy second amendment protections and be exempt from registration? Isn't registration an infringement?
